Who are we?

Escapist is an Aarhus-based event company, established in the spring of 2017. It sprang from a collaboration between the entrepeneur Jesper Overgaard and game designer Henrik Ravn, who had ambitions of creating some of Denmark’s best entertainment together.

At Escapist, the focus is on creating entirely unique and exciting game experiences for people who are ready to have their wits, teamwork and communication skills challenged. All games have been designed and built from the ground up, and can’t be found anywhere else in the world.

The company’s first project was its Klostergade location, where the first two escape rooms The Great Diamond Heist and USS Triton opened up in 2017 and 2018. The rooms met a warm welcome from the public, and have held a solid 5/5 rating from the users on TripAdvisor ever since they opened.

In 2020, Escapist published the board game Murder at Snowpeak - murder mystery for 6 players (available only in Danish).

In Juli of 2021, Escapist opened up an additional branch in Tilst, which, with its gorgeous double Wild West-rooms Wanted, was on track to become the new headquarters. The location received nothing but 5-star reviews on TripAdvisor, but was unfortunately plagued by crime. After an extensive fire caused by arson in 2022, the location was closed down permanently.

As of January 1st 2024, Henrik took over the entire company.
